Why is the cash option different from the advertised Jackpot? |
| The Big Game Mega Millions Jackpot is an estimated
26-year annuity value. When players choose the annuity option for their
prize, the state lottery pays the prize out over 26 years by buying U.S.
Government Treasury Securities, which earn interest and mature annually
over the 26 years. That annual return is the amount the winners receive
each year for the 26 year period. With the cash option, the state lottery
will take the amount of money that would have been invested and will pay
it directly to the winner in one payment. Both payment options have federal
and applicable state taxes deducted from them. (see below) By Playing Big
Game Mega Millions through USUKLotto.com, you automatically opt for the
cash option. |
What if more than one person wins? |

a 3O% withholding tax when won by a non-US citizen. However, if you are

from the United States Internal Revenue Service if your country has a tax
treaty with the United States. |
If I should win the Jackpot, do I have the option of remaining anonymous
as far as the public and the media are concerned? |
| Normally, in most States, lottery winner information
is in the public domain; therefore it is public information. Publicized
information normally includes the Jackpot winner's name, city, country,
game in which they won, date won, and the amount of the prize. |
What determines the size of the Jackpot? |
| The Jackpot starts at a minimum of $10 million.
For every consecutive draw in which there is no winner, the Jackpot is increased
in proportion to ticket sales. When the Jackpot becomes massive in size,
this is likely to be due to increased ticket sales generated by the publicity.
After a Jackpot is claimed, it is reset to the minimum $10 million level.
